"Multidisciplinary Approach to Neuroendocrine Tumors"

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to attend our 7th conference on HPB Surgery which is to be held in Ahmedabad on 20th September 2015. The theme of this meeting is "Multidisciplinary Approach to Neuroendocrine Tumors". This event is organized by Gujarat Liver and Digestive surgery Clinic (GLDC) and Gujarat Liver Cancer Clinic (GLCC) in association with Sterling Hospitals.

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) present a diverse group of malignancies considered to be rare, but recent data are indicating a significant increase in both incidence and prevalence during the last few decades. Successful management requires an understanding of the disease process as a whole and a multi-modality approach with contributions from medical oncology, surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, pathology, interventional and diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine and genetics. Recent advances in imaging and surgical techniques along with emerging options in systemic therapies have improved the outlook in this cancer. The management in a multidisciplinary environment would become central to achieving optimal outcomes in this group of patients.

Liver Update 2015 is aimed at surgeons having a special interest in HPB oncosurgery. It is an educational meeting to provide a forum for the dissemination and discussion of evidence-based research and treatment developments for Neuroendocrine Tumors. This one-day event will be divided into five sessions with talks presented by experts in the field based on best level of evidence available from the literature. The scientific program would highlight the important aspects of surgical techniques and various novel therapeutic options for the NETs. The meeting will consist of lectures, master videos, panel discussions and interactive case discussions involving world-renowned national authorities and experts. Our aim is to prepare a high level conference and initiate an open and friendly atmosphere for communication among experts coming from all areas of the country and we hope we fulfil these expectations. On behalf of the organizing committee I extend our warmest invitation to attend Liver Update 2015. We hope that you will enjoy the meeting and your participation and contribution will stimulate a creative exchange of ideas.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ahmedabad in September 2015.

With warm regards,

Dr. Hitesh Chavda
